AMMAN — Canadian Ambassador to Jordan Tarik Ali Khan and the president and members of the Aqaba Governorate Council (AGC) on Wednesday discussed cooperation in various fields, particularly development, services and tourism.
Khan said that the visit to Aqaba is intended to provide an opportunity to meet with several government and private institutions and to launch an investment project in support of the establishment of the Jordan-Saudi Arabia Durra Border Centre, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The ambassador said that the project is presented by the Canadian government which aims to develop the area and cooperate with partners to attract more tourists and investors to Jordan. Chairman of the AGC Imad Amr briefed the envoy about the key challenges faced by the local community and the importance of supporting development projects.
