ACC issued 28,999 certificates of origin in first 9 months of 2021

AMMAN — The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) on Monday said that the number of certificates of origin it issued in the first nine months of the year increased by 15.8 per cent, compared with the same period of 2020. 

The ACC issued 28,999 certificates of origin in the January-September period, compared with 25,036 certificates in the same period of 2020, the chamber said in a statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The value of certificates of origin to export goods the ACC issued in the first nine months of 2021 decreased by 19 per cent to JD546 million, down from JD675 million in the same period of 2020.

The ACC noted that a total of 8,259 certificates were issued for shipments exported to Saudi Arabia, with 3,791 to the UAE, 1,708 to Oman, 1,181 to Iraq and 903 to Egypt.

The majority of exports went to Iraq, which accounted for JD156 million, Saudi Arabia with JD59 million, Oman with JD44 million, Egypt with JD43 million and the UAE with JD42 million. 

The ACC statistics showed that the value of re-exported items in the first nine months of the year totalled about JD281 million, including agricultural commodities that accounted for JD122 million and industrial items with JD81 million.
