AMMAN — The Cabinet on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the digital transformation programme, and discussed future goals for the programme.

The programme falls under the services pillar of the Public Sector Modernisation Roadmap.

During a session chaired by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Minister Ahmad Hanandeh briefed ministers on the unified government services portal “Sanad”, noting that the platform’s services include activating digital identities, digital documents, digital signatures and e-payments, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

More than 200 e-services have been launched across several departments and ministries, Hanandeh said, adding that stakeholders have also completed 2,400 services offered by 50 public departments, and chose 700 services to be digitised in later stages.

In the same meeting, the Council of Ministers appointed Sami Dawood as chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Post Company.
