Workshop participants assess impact of gov’t transparency

AMMAN — Planning Minister Ibrahim Saif on Tuesday inaugurated a workshop on assessing the impact of the government’s transparent policies on local development in Jordan, according to a ministry statement.
Participants at the workshop, organised by the ministry and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), discussed the importance of transparency and the public’s participation in building the capacities of local communities.
The Planning Ministry, in cooperation with the OECD, has implemented Jordan’s action plan associated with the International Aid Transparency Initiative.
The initiative aims at making information about aid more transparent, the statement said.
