Two dead after drowning in Maan agricultural pond — PSD

AMMAN — Two people of Arab nationality died on Saturday after drowning in an agricultural pond.
According to the spokesman of the Public Security Directorate (PSD), the Maan Civil Defence Department's diving teams responded to the incident in the Al Hashimiyah region of Maan.
The diving teams recovered the bodies of the victims from the agricultural pond, and rescue teams transported the deceased to Maan Government Hospital.
A PSD's statement urged the public to avoid swimming in dams, agricultural ponds and channels that are not designated for such activities.
They also stressed the need to closely supervise children and prevent them from approaching dangerous areas in order to avoid similar tragedies in the future.
