Trump plans to name Julia Nesheiwat as homeland security adviser

AMMAN — The White House on Thursday announced it was planning to name Julia Nesheiwat, of Jordanian origin, as President Donald Trump’s homeland security adviser. Nesheiwat holds a PhD from the Tokyo Institute of Technology and an MA from Georgetown University, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Nesheiwat was the US presidential deputy envoy for hostage affairs and was later acting envoy when National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien left the State Department. She will replace US Coast Guard Rear Admiral Peter Brown who was removed from his role just six months after assuming the job.
