AMMAN —Snowfall is expected in areas located 1,000m above sea level and higher on Thursday night and Friday dawn, ArabiaWeather and Jordan Meteorological Department said in statement on Wednesday.
Snow is expected in Jerash and Ajloun on Thursday night, while on Friday dawn it is expected in Amman and mountainous areas in the central parts of the country and the south.
Heavy rain, lightning, thunder and hail are also expected. The depression will be accompanied by brisk winds that exceed 85 kilometres per hour, according to the statements.
The snowfall is a result of a deep polar depression that is accompanied with a cold air mass, which is forecast to affect the Kingdom in the weekend, according to the joint forecasts of the ArabiaWeather and Jordan Meteorological Department.
