Safadi, Belgian counterpart discuss Gaza developments, halting war

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi on Monday discussed with his Belgian counterpart Hadja Lahbib the developments in Gaza and efforts to halt the war.

During the meeting, Safadi praised Belgium’s vote in favour of the United Nations General Assembly's resolution on halting the war, protecting civilians and upholding legal and humanitarian commitments.

The resolution was submitted by Jordan on behalf of the Arab group at the UN. Safadi stressed the importance of halting the war on Gaza and the humanitarian catastrophe it is causing. He reiterated the need for delivering humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians in the besieged enclave.
