Private schools threaten to cease dealing with Education Ministry

AMMAN — The Private Schools Association (PSA) on Saturday called on the Education Ministry to revisit its recent regulations governing private schools, threatening to cease dealing with the ministry if it refuses to do so.
A PSA statement underlined its commitment to cooperating with the ministry, but criticised regulations that oblige members to abide by certain instructions to obtain the necessary licences and set a limit for the number of students.
In addition, the PSA rejected the ministry’s interference in school fees, noting that more than 50 per cent of private school buildings are rented.
