Minister of State, US ambassador discuss bolstering bilateral relations, key regional developments

AMMAN — Minister of State Wajih Azaizeh on Tuesday met with US Ambassador Yael Lempert, with discussions focusing on means to strengthen bilateral relations and address key regional developments. Azaizeh highlighted His Majesty King Abdullah's dedicated efforts on the Arab, regional and international fronts, towards ending the war against Gaza and its surroundings. He reiterated Jordan's steadfast stance on the Palestinian cause, in line with the two-state solution that ensures the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the 4 June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. The US Ambassador commended His Majesty's role in the promotion of advancing regional peace and opposition to forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank. Both parties emphasised the vital need for continued cooperation between the two countries to serve regional security and stability.
