AMMAN — Deputy CEO of the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) Ahmed Al Taweel on Monday said that SOFEX 2022’s recent strategy and vision have helped attract the exhibition’s 271 participating companies from 40 nations.
The improved strategy also contributed to the participation of delegations from 70 countries, Taweel said.
SOFEX's vision is focused on increasing the number of participating delegations and international mega-companies, with a particular concentration on specialists in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and special operations, Taweel added.
On the sidelines of the Special Economic Zone / Aqaba-held Middle East Special Operations Commanders Conference (MESOC), Taweel said that the exhibition provides a networking platform for defence industry and service provider startups and leading companies alike.
This move helps improve the Kingdom's investment environment and contributes to the establishment of new companies alongside Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB) subsidiaries, in cooperation with international companies to start voting in Jordan, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Choosing Aqaba to host SOFEX 2022 was intended to generate an investment environment welcoming of new trends, increasing defense industry ventures and stimulating tourism by attracting some 3,000 foreign visitors and 5,000 locals to the exhibition. The tourism aspect contributes to supporting the port city's economy and providing a new investment opportunity, he added.
