AMMAN — A Royal Decree was issued on Thursday dissolving the Senate as of October 25.

Another decree was issued appointing the 75 members of the new Senate.

Former premier Abdur-Ra’uf S. Rawabdeh was named Senate president, succeeding Taher Masri.

The new Senate includes four former prime ministers, who are — in addition to Rawabdeh — Faisal Fayez, Marouf Bakhit and Samir Rifai.

The new Senate also includes eight women and several former ministers.
