Jordan confirms death of pilot, says killed January 3

AMMAN — Jordan Television said on Tuesday that air force pilot Muath Kasasbeh had died on January 3.
In an urgent news item, the state TV channel did not elaborate on the case.
Around an hour earlier, the so-called Islamic State group posted a video and photos purportedly showing Kasasbeh being burned to death in a cage.
The video could not be verified.
The pilot was captured by IS on December 24 after his plane crashed in Syria.
