AMMAN – Eid Al Fitr, the feast marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, will start on Sunday, according to an announcement by Chief Islamic Justice Ahmad Hlayel.
Hlayel said in an announcement the new moon of the lunar month of Shawwal was not sighted Friday evening and thus Saturday would be the 30th day of Ramadan.
The Kingdom’s ministries, public departments and institutions are observing the Eid holiday from Saturday, August 18, through Tuesday, August 21.
