AMMAN – The father of slain pilot Muath Kasasbeh on Wednesday offered condolences to His Majesty King Abdullah and all Jordanians, and called for eliminating the Daesh terrorist group.
In an interview with Jordan Television, Safi Kasasbeh said Muath was the son of all Jordan and Jordanians, and he feels “the loss in every Jordanian home”.
The father said he had met the King twice since his son was captured by Daesh on December 24, with Crown Prince Hussein attending one of the meetings.
“The King told me that he was following up personally on Muath’s case. He said Crown Prince Hussein, may God protect him, is no dearer to me than Muath,” Safi said.
“Today I offer my condolences to His Majesty over the death of his son Muath and I implore the Almighty to grant his other son [Prince] Hussein long life,” he added.
Safi urged Jordanians to stand united behind their leadership and armed forces in their fight against terrorism and those targeting Jordan.
On Tuesday, Daesh released a gruesome video showing the pilot being burnt alive, which drew widespread local and international condemnation.
