AMMAN — The Jordan Press Association (JPA) Council on Monday announced the establishment of a "monitoring room" at its headquarters to oversee election-related activities and address feedback or complaints from journalists covering the elections.

In a press statement, JPA President Rakan Saaideh emphasised that the monitoring room aims to ensure that journalists can perform their duties without obstacles, enabling them to deliver comprehensive coverage of the election process to the public.

The council has also activated the hotline 0790111999 for journalists to report any issues they encounter during their coverage.

Saaideh urged journalists to adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and objectivity in their reporting, stressing the importance of notifying the monitoring room of any challenges on the Election Day.

Saaideh also noted that the council is ready to intervene and address concerns with the relevant authorities, particularly the Independent Election Commission.
