AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Sunday met Egyptian Senate President Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq in Cairo to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral relations, mainly enhancing parliamentary cooperation.

Fayez and Abdel Razeq stressed the strategic importance of Jordanian-Egyptian relations, which are based on mutual respect, common interests, and continuous coordination between the leaderships of both countries, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The discussions also highlighted the Jordanian-Egyptian efforts to end the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

Both sides stressed the need to activate joint Arab action to end Israeli aggression and enable the Palestinians to achieve their legitimate rights, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

In light of the ongoing aggressive and brutal practices of the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinians, including massacres, war crimes in Gaza, genocides, and starvation, they called on the international community to take firm and practical measures to stop these actions, to enforce compliance with international resolutions and to hold Israel accountable for its "heinous" crimes.
