AMMAN — The National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) and Japan's Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) on Tuesday signed an agreement to upgrade key substations of the Kingdom's power grid. These substations are funded by the Japanese government, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency, under a grant totalling $6.5 million, which was extended to Jordan in 2022 to facilitate an energy system stabilisation project, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. NEPCO Director General Amjad Rawashdeh and TTC General Manager of Energy Infrastructure Projects Tokuji Koyama signed the agreement. Emphasising the significance of the deal, Rawashdeh highlighted NEPCO's commitment to enhancing the quality, efficiency and sustainability of the electrical system, particularly in substations of strategic importance.
