AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Thursday discussed the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah and Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to halt the Israeli aggression on Gaza, protect civilians and ensure the delivery of food and medicines to Gaza.

Receiving Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) and Adviser to the Saudi Royal Court Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Rabeeah, Khasawneh highlighted the pan-Arab stance to reject displacement, collective punishment and the banning of humanitarian assistance, which all contradict international, humanitarian, moral and legal norms.

The prime minister said that Jordan was among the first countries to dispatch a humanitarian aid airplane to Gazans, which arrived at Egypt's Al Arish airport since the early days of the attack, voicing the Kingdom's readiness to launch an airlift to help Palestinians in Gaza to receive food, medicines and humanitarian needs, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The premier stressed coordination between the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation and KSrelief while delivering aid to Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

Rabeeah pointed to the "brotherly" coordination between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, their diplomatic efforts to halt the attack on Gaza and be at the forefront for delivering humanitarian assistance to Palestinians.

He also stressed that the humanitarian profile has a special importance in light of the difficult circumstances of Gazans under the ongoing Israeli aggression, stressing KSrelief's keenness to coordinate with Jordanian institutions concerned with delivery aid to Gaza.

The supervisor general commended the support that the centre receives in Jordan in a way that facilitates its operation.
