AMMAN — Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, is exerting significant effort to stop the aggression of the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip, Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi said on Wednesday. During a meeting with Algerian Ambassador Abdulkarim Behha, the two sides stressed the need to rally pan-Arab and international parliamentary stance to halt the aggression on Gaza, reiterating the support of Jordan and Algeria for Palestinians until they receive their legitimate rights on their national soil, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Behha handed over Safadi a letter from President of the Algerian National People's Assembly Ibrahim Boughali to criminalise tampering with holy sites and religious symbols, during the meeting of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation member states, slated to be held in Angola. Safadi expressed support to the Algerian proposal, stressing the need to coordinate stances to serve the interests of the Arab and Islamic nations.
