AMMAN — The Investment Ministry has listed an investment opportunity on its “Invest in Jordan” platform to build a medical resort in Naour, with an investment volume of $375 million.

The resort is envisioned as a state-of-the-art medical facility following the latest international standards and best environmental practices, with the hopes for the resort to eventually become a leading technological facility for medical research, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The resort will take up 123,000 square metres and will have 110 hotel rooms with 260 beds, including VIP suites, 14 private villas, swimming pools, childcare facilities, a nursing dormitory, and 16 operating rooms for both minor and major surgeries.

Utilising the best green building practices, the resort will increase its operational profitability by relying on renewable energy, natural light, green designs, and waste storage and processing facilities.

The Naour medical resort is also envisioned to contribute to life sciences and biotechnology research by combining traditional and innovative medical concepts.

The facility will include anaesthesia, neuroscience, gynaecology and obstetrics, ophthalmology, paediatrics, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, surgery, interventional radiology, radiology and imaging, clinical laboratories and critical care medicine.

The resort will benefit from the "skilled" workforce and "distinguished" reputation of Jordanian healthcare sector, which was recently classified as the best medical tourism destination in the Middle East and North Africa by the World Bank.

Interested investors can take part in the project’s design, funding, construction, operations and administration processes.
