AMMAN — A Jordanian parliamentary delegation, headed by Assistant Lower House Speaker Wael Razzouq, participated in the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO) in Greece.

The assembly adopted two proposals submitted by the Jordanian delegation: Denouncing the burning of a copy of the Holy Koran by an extremist in Sweden, and condemning the attacks by the Israeli occupation on the property of the Orthodox Patriarchate in Palestine and the Palestinian people, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Monday.

In a speech during the opening of the assembly's meeting, Razzouq stressed the need to seek peace and harmony among the countries of the world, highlighting the importance of humanity, love and compassion as a title of dealing with others without any discrimination.

He also reiterated the significance of the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, which is the basis for protecting Jerusalem and preserving its Arab identity.
