AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Thursday met with a delegation from the German Bundestag Budget Committee headed by MP Claudia Raffelhüschen.
The meeting focused on enhancing the "solid" partnership between Jordan and Germany, and fostering collaboration in various economic and development endeavours, according to a ministry statement.
During the meeting, Safadi expressed the country’s gratitude for Germany’s support for the Kingdom’s development efforts.
He also appreciated Germany's assistance in mitigating the effects of regional crises, especially Germany's support for Jordan's initiatives aimed at providing decent living conditions for Syrian refugees and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA).
Safadi acquainted the delegation with the political, economic and administrative modernisation programmes that are underway in Jordan, and outlined their plans, objectives and timelines.
The discussion also touched on regional issues, mainly the Palestinian cause, and the outcomes of the Amman Consultative Meeting on Syria.
The guest delegation affirmed the strength of the relationship between Jordan and Germany and praised the Kingdom's role in promoting regional security and stability. Additionally, they commended Jordan's humanitarian efforts in hosting refugees.
