Shboul, Economic and Social Council chairman discuss gov’t communications dialogue

AMMAN — Minister of Government Communications Faisal Shboul on Tuesday acquainted the Chairman of Economic and Social Council of Jordan Musa Shteiwi with the draft of  the general policy of government media and communication, which was developed by the ministry in preparation for the upcoming dialogue to be launched by the council. Shboul said that the ministry prepared the draft policy to support programmes and initiatives regarding the political, economic and administrative modernisation plans. The policy is expected to contribute to protecting society from hate speech, privacy violations and fake news, given the increasing prevalence of these negative phenomena in societies worldwide. The draft policy will be published on the Economic and Social Council's website for partners and media outlets to review, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Shteiwi noted that the council will develop a detailed plan for managing the dialogue on the policy.
