AMMAN — A group of photographers from “Jordan through the lens of Ajloun photographers” carried out a number of photographic tours to the governorate’s tourist sights and natural scenery under the title “Ajloun Spring Gallery”, in partnership with the Ajloun Culture Directorate.

The tours allowed photographers to take hundreds of beautiful photographs of areas of Al Safa municipality, and areas full of other natural features that are prominent during the spring, such as the perennial olive trees in Al Hashimiyya, a town in Al Maysar municipality.

The project’s coordinator, Munther Al Zoghoulits, told the Jordan Times that the initiative started in 2018 with the aim of promoting tourism in Jordan by taking pictures of historical and touristic places. The initiative has the secondary goal of encouraging locals to produce products that can be sold at the farmers markets that it holds annually.

The initiative’s team will continue the tours after the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The team plans to visit areas in Al Junaid, Al Rawabi, Al Ayyun, and other locations.

The Ajloun Director of Culture, Samer Al Freihat, noted that Ajloun Governorate is “rich in picturesque tourist sites and nature that is filled with the colours of spring”.

According to Freihat, the Directorate and the Ministry of Culture have taken on the task of promoting these “beautiful areas of Ajloun” to encourage both domestic and international tourists to visit the sites. The Directorate of Culture, in partnership with other cultural institutions in the governorate, previously held dozens of tourist, archaeological and spring photo exhibitions in Ajloun Governorate.
