Princess Basma visits Goodwill Campaign surgery patients

AMMAN — HRH Princess Basma, president of the Goodwill Campaign’s higher committee of the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD), on Wednesday visited patients receiving treatment through the campaign at the Specialty Hospital and Middle East Eye Hospital.
Princess Basma met with patients who underwent various free surgeries performed by a volunteer medical team as part of the campaign, implemented JOHUD in partnership with the private medical sector, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
At the Specialty Hospital, the princess listened to a briefing from supervising doctors on the cases and surgeries performed on 11 patients, including bone and joint surgeries, cosmetic restorations, general surgery, and neurosurgery, all of which were successful.
At Middle East Eye Hospital, Princess Basma visited patients who underwent various operations and listened to supervising doctors on the outcomes of the surgeries.
The princess said that these partnerships highlight the values of solidarity among various national institutions, realising the humanitarian goals of treating patients and alleviating their suffering.
Princess Basma stressed the need to continue the campaign, with the support of its partners in the private medical sector, to meet the needs of patients, who include children and members of vulnerable families across the Kingdom. The princess stressed that the campaign provides patients with all the necessary health and treatment services through the work of the campaign's specialised medical volunteers.
She expressed appreciation for the efforts of doctors and nursing and technical staff in both hospitals, and for the efforts of the hospital administration to facilitate operations and provide all necessary services to patients and their chaperones.
General Manager of the Specialty Hospital Fawzi Hammouri said that the hospital has always been part of the campaign in an effort to alleviate the suffering of patients through surgery.
General Manager of the Middle East Eye Hospital Mousa Baidoun expressed the hospital's pride in the partnership with the Goodwill Campaign, as part of fruitful cooperation among national institutions.
In the presence of Princess Basma, the Goodwill Campaign and Middle East Eye Hospital renewed an agreement to continue support for surgeries of patients benefitting from the campaign.
The princess also opened new blood, chemistry, bacteria and immunology laboratories at the Specialty Hospital, all of which were equipped with the latest medical technology.
