AMMAN — The Jordan Gaming Lab, a project by the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD), has hosted a free video game development event that travels the world to attract enthusiasts to design games based on a secret theme.

The Global Game Jam (GGJ), which went on for 48 hours at the lab's branches in Amman, Zarqa and Aqaba, attracted 107 participants. Sixteen Jordan-made games were uploaded to GGJ's website, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Monday.

During the event, participants designed a video game based on a theme revealed at the opening ceremony.

The lab said that it provided all programmes and software needed to develop the video games.

The challenge allowed participants to get acquainted with cutting-edge technology, while learning about video game development among a diverse group of professional game designers from across the world.
