House speaker meets with Saudi Shura Council speaker

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi on Sunday met with Saudi Shura Council Speaker Abdullah Al Sheikh, with talks stressing the importance of enhancing coordination over common parliamentary stances to serve central issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause.

During the meeting on the sidelines of the Algiers-held 17th Parliamentary session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation member states, both sides commended the “solid” nature of relations between both kingdoms, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Safadi highlighted support for His Majesty King Abdullah’s efforts in support of the Palestinian cause which tops the Royal agenda, expressing the Jordanians' pride in the Hashemite Custodianship over Jerusalem’s holy sites.

Sheikh emphasised the importance of advancing Jordanian and Saudi parliamentary cooperation and coordination to serve the best interests of both nations.
