AMMAN — Empowering spokespersons is among the priorities of the Government Communication Ministry, with a focus on providing information to media outlets and the public as a matter of rights, Minister of Government Communications Faisal Shboul said on Sunday. During a meeting with ministry spokespersons, Shboul said that the ministry is responsible for empowering spokespersons and government communications employees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He added that the training programme held for government spokespersons last year, in partnership with UNDP and the Jordan Media Institute, trained ministry spokespersons to provide information to the public in a more flexible and timely manner. UNDP Resident Representative in Jordan Randa Abu Al Hosn said that the programme for supporting strategic media and government communications highlights the importance of spokespersons and their key role in delivering the messages of the state.
