AMMAN — Jordan on Wednesday condemned the continuous Israeli attacks on the properties of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the most recent of which was a group of Israeli settlers’ storming of Patriarchate-owned land in Silwan's Wadi Hilweh, south of the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Sinan Majali reiterated the Kingdom's rejection of all measures targeting Christians in occupied East Jerusalem and those aimed at altering the ancient city's historical and legal status quo, including Islamic and Christian properties and endowments.
A ministry statement emphasised Jordan's support for Jerusalemites and the Orthodox Church in the face of extremist and settler attacks.
