Workshop held on public-private partnership in water sector

AMMAN — Acting Secretary General of the Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) Rami Abu Ruwaq on Tuesday attended a workshop titled “Public-Private Sectors Partnership in the Water Field”.
Representatives from the Investment Ministry, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), USAID, private sector companies and water sector officials participated in the event.
The workshop stressed the importance of cooperation and partnership between the public and private sectors and the role of consultation and investment engineering companies, notably due to their expertise in operating and maintaining water plants, according to a WAJ statement. Abu Ruwaq emphasised the importance of such workshops to get acquainted with obstacles facing the development of partnership between the public and private sectors, praising the efforts of GIZ in the field.
