Maaytah discusses electoral modernisation process

AMMAN — Chairman of the Independent Election Commission (IEC) Mousa Maaytah on Monday met with Deputy President of the US National Democratic Institute (NDI) Stephanie Rust to review the elections administrated and supervised by the IEC since its inception.

Maaytah also discussed the IEC's plans and projects related to modernising the political system and constitutional amendments, updating laws governing elections and political parties, raising political awareness and increasing political empowerment and participation among women and youth, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Rust praised the commission's efforts in improving the election process, expressing readiness to offer any support to IEC.
