Jordan-GCC trade volume increased to JD2.84b in H1 2022

AMMAN — Trade between Jordan and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries increased to JD2.84 billion in the first half of 2022, against JD2.044 billion in the same period in 2021, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

Jordan's exports to the GCC countries increased from JD612 million during the first six months of 2021 compared with JD635 million in 2022.

Jordan's imports from the GCC countries amounted to JD2.169 billion during the January-July period of 2022, against JD1.432 billion in the corresponding period of 2021.

The Kingdom's largest trading partner in the GCC was Saudi Arabia. 

Jordanian-Saudi trade stood at JD1.85 billion, constituting an increase of more than JD400 million, in comparison to JD1.42 billion recorded during the same period of 2021. 

Jordanian-Saudi trade balance has tilted in favour of Saudi Arabia, which shipped JD1.46 billion worth of goods to Jordan in six months, while exports from Jordan to Saudi Arabia amounted to JD390 million.

Jordan's trade volume with the UAE stood at JD679 million, while the Jordanian-Qatari trade totalled JD65 million.

As for trade with Kuwait, it amounted to about JD111 million.

Jordan-Oman trade saw a total of JD40 million, while Jordan-Bahrain trade reached JD59 million.
