Jordan ranks 6th globally in terms of number of banks

AMMAN — Jordan ranked sixth in terms of the number of banks after four new banks joined the list of the biggest 1,000 banks in the world, which are, in order: The Arab Bank, the Housing Bank for Trade and Finance, Bank Al Ittihad and the Bank of Jordan, Union of Arab Banks Secretary General Wisam Fattouh said on Thursday.
A statistical study showed that the main capital for these banks reached $9.2 billion with assets worth $88.1 billion, Fattouh added as reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra. The financial data available for Arab banks by the end of 2021 showed that 72 Arab banks had joined the list, Petra added.
