AMMAN — The judicial authority specialised in investigating corruption cases at the Amman Magistrate’s Court convicted a public employee working at the Jordan Customs Department (JCD) of accepting a bribe, and decided to imprison him for three years.
The court said that its decision is appealable, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The court said that the defendant asked for a bribe from a cleaning company working at the JCD and was arrested while receiving the bribe. The employee received the bribe to overlook the company’s lack of commitment to an agreement signed with the JCD.
