Jordan, Australia discuss using organic waste to increase soil fertility

AMMAN — Minister of Agriculture Khalid Hneifat and Charge d'Affaires at the Australian embassy in Jordan Amanda McGregor on Monday discussed the use of organic waste to increase soil efficiency and fertility and reduce water use, as well as addressing climate change.
During a meeting attended by VRM Biologik Group President Ken Bellamy as well as Director-General of the National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) Nizar Haddad, Huneifat directed NARC to coordinate with the experts to conduct the necessary tests to allow the ministry to optimise efforts to cultivate wheat and barley, among other corps, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
