Protecting Lebanon’s security and stability key for regional security — Safadi

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Friday met with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues of mutual interest. 

During the meeting, which took place on the eve of the consultative meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers, Safadi affirmed the Kingdom's unwavering support towards Lebanon and its people.

He also reiterated Jordan’s supporting efforts aimed to help Lebanon overcome the challenges it faces.

Safadi stressed that protecting Lebanon and its stability is a priority and a necessity for achieving regional security and stability.

Mikati expressed appreciation towards efforts exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah and Jordan’s stances in supporting Lebanon and its stability, highlighting the depth of relations between the countries and peoples.

Mikati hosted an official dinner for Arab foreign ministers participating in the consultative meeting, in the presence of a number of former prime ministers, Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib, Lebanese ministers, a number of Lebanon’s parliament members and officials.
