AMMAN — The Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD) on Wednesday signed three agreements with the Baptist School, Madar International School and Schools of Retaal International Academy with the aim of providing an inclusive education for students with disabilities.
HH Prince Mired, president of the HCD, who signed the agreements with stakeholders of the three schools, stressed the importance of the joint effort to realise equity, equal opportunities and non-discrimination to allow people with disabilities to practise their right to education in an environment free of obstacles, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Under the memos, the HCD will offer technical support renovation in three schools in line with the building code for people with disabilities.
The schools will also admit at least five students with disabilities during the first academic year, before doubling the number in later academic years.
