Iraq top destination for ACC exports in January-April period of 2022

ACC value of certificates of origin up by 29% in first 4 months of 2022

AMMAN — The value of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) to export goods and commodities to Arab and foreign countries in the first four months of 2022 went up by 29 per cent, compared with the figures reported in the corresponding period of 2021.

According to figures released on Monday by the ACC and cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the number of issued certificates of origin increased by 4.7 per cent, reaching 8,049 versus 7,685 during the same period last year.

The value of ACC exports stood at JD254 million in the first third of 2022 compared with JD197 million announced in the same period of 2021.

In its country breakdown of the figures, the ACC noted that a total of 1,422 certificates were issued for shipments exported to Saudi Arabia, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 1,148, Iraq with 392, Egypt with 322 and India with 68 certificates.

The majority of exports in the January-April of this year went to Iraq, which accounted for JD44 million, followed by Egypt with JD42 million, India with JD26 million, the UAE with JD25 million and Saudi Arabia with JD21 million.

The value of re-exports (exports of foreign products) in the same period stood at JD111 million, while the value of industrial exports amounted to JD82 million, agricultural exports stood at JD30 million, and Arab products were worth JD16 million.
