Bani Mustafa, UK ambassador discuss women empowerment

AMMAN — Minister of State for Legal Affairs Wafa Bani Mustafa and British Ambassador to Jordan Bridget Brind on Tuesday discussed means to enhance cooperation between the countries, especially in efforts to improve women’s political participation.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of and engaging young people in the decision-making process and benefitting from their potential in innovation and creativity, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Bani Mustafa said that the recent amendments to the legislative system are important and crucial for stimulating the partisan work, developing Jordan’s democratic environment and empowering women. Brind commended the Kingdom's efforts in modernising the political system, at the level of the Constitution and the elections and political party’s laws, which open future opportunities for women and youth.
