Jordan’s wheat reserves sufficient for 15 months

AMMAN — Jordan’s reserve can cover local consumption of wheat for 15 months, while the reserve can cover barely and bran consumption for 11 months, Chairman of Jordan Silos and Supply General Company Anwar Ajarmeh said on Wednesday.
The company’s director general, Emad Tarawneh, highlighted that the company's unloading capabilities could reach two grain vessels unloading every five days, adding that the storage capabilities total 735,000 tonnes of grain and 11,600 tons of refrigerants, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The company has an area of 45,000 square meters designated to store dry foodstuff, he said, adding that the Juwaida Mill can supply the local market with 400 tonnes of flour a day.
