Dams now hold nearly 33 mcm water after recent rainfall — Water Ministry

AMMAN — The Ministry of Water and Irrigation on Sunday announced an increase in the annual rainfall rate to 53.1 per cent, equivalent to 4,351 million cubic metres (mcm) of Jordan’s long term annual average of 8.1 billion cubic metres (bcm).
The recent rainfall added to the total quantities of water accumulated in the main dams to 11.5 mcm, of which 2 mcm were stored during the past 24 hours.
The ministry explained that from the beginning of the winter season until Sunday morning, a total of 32.5 mcm of water hasbeen stored in dams.
