Dughmi meets with representatives from Lafarge Cement company

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Abdulkarim Dughmi on Monday met a number of representatives from the Jordan Lafarge Cement Factories Company, who protested in front of Parliament calling for realising their labour rights.
Dughmi, during a meeting attended by Labour Minister Nayef Steitieh, urged the related bodies to find immediate solutions to the protesters’ demands, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Steitieh said that the ministry and Lafarge have entered into negotiations, with the latter proposing a number of solutions.
Steitieh noted that the ministry will keep the Lower House speaker, the Parliament Labour Committee and the protesters informed about measures to reach a satisfactory agreement for both parties.
