AMMAN — The National Centre for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) on Thursday said that it decided to take more preventive measures as of next Sunday to deal with COVID-19 variants that might reach the Kingdom, mainly the Omicron variant.

The centre said that all arrivals in the Kingdom must conduct a PCR test within 72 hours of arrival, register on the GATEWAY2JORDAN platform and receive a QRCODE that allows them to board so as they can conduct another PCR test at the Kingdom’s airport, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

As for land borders, arrivals in the Kingdom must conduct a PCR test within 72 hours of arrival, register on the GATEWAY2JORDAN platform and receive a QRCODE upon arrival at the border crossing, before conducting another PCR test upon arrival at the borders.

Children under the age of five are exempted from these two decisions.

The centre added that a previous decision exempting those with vaccination certificates has been cancelled, where all arrivals, Jordanians and non-Jordanians must follow the new procedures.
