ACC issues 34,640 certificates of origin in first 11 months of 2021

AMMAN — The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) on Monday said that the number of certificates of origin it issued in the first 11 months of the year increased by 11 per cent, compared with the same period of 2020. 

The ACC issued 34,054 certificates of origin in the January-November period, compared with 30,640 certificates in the same period of 2020, the chamber said in a statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The value of certificates of origin to export goods the ACC issued in the first 11 months of 2021 decreased by 21 per cent to JD659 million, down from JD836 million in the same period of 2020.

The ACC noted that a total of 9,157 certificates were issued for shipments exported to Saudi Arabia, with 4,572 to the UAE, 2,215 to Oman, 1,384 to Iraq and 1,047 to Egypt.

The majority of exports went to Iraq, which accounted for JD185 million, followed by Saudi Arabia with JD70 million, Egypt with JD60 million, the UAE with JD52 million and Oman with JD47 million. 

The ACC statistics showed that the value of re-exported items in the first 11 months of the year totalled about JD336 million, agricultural commodities accounted for JD145 million and industrial items with JD106 million.
