Jordan-US trade balance registers surplus of JD422m in Q3 2021

AMMAN — The Kingdom's trade balance with the US registered a surplus of JD 422 million until the end of the third quarter of this year, the Department of Statistic (DoS) said on Monday.
According to the DoS monthly report, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the value of national exports to the US until the end of September 2021 increased by 22.9 per cent, reaching JD1.145 billion, compared with the same period of last year, which amounted to JD932 million.
The Kingdom's imports from the US also increased by 2.7 per cent towards the end of September 2021, amounting to JD723 million, compared with JD704 million in the same period of 2020. The trade balance represents the difference between the value of imports and exports.
It is considered one of the important economic indicators, and one of the inputs to countries’ GDP, Petra added.
