PM directs ministries, public departments to tighten COVID-19 prevention measures

AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Sunday directed all ministries and public departments to tighten monitoring procedures on defence orders and regulations, mainly Defence Order No. 32 that regulates the work of non-inoculated people.
Chairing a Cabinet session, Khasawneh highlighted the importance of Defence Order No. 32 to guarantee the safety of employees and workers in the public and private sectors and to stop the spread of the virus, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The prime minister also called for preparing lists on the number of vaccinated employees and those who conduct PCR tests. He added that these lists should be updated weekly and referred to the Prime Ministry.
The premier directed Interior Minister Mazen Faraiah to instruct administrative governors to strengthen deterrent and monitoring procedures and reiterated the importance of ensuring abidance to safety measures.
He also pointed out that several countries in the region and world are witnessing increased numbers of infections and deaths during this phase of the pandemic. To avoid any health setbacks, the premier called for the highest levels of commitment to preventive measures and vaccination efforts.
During the session, the Council of Ministers also endorsed the bylaw on the structure of ministries and public departments and units for the 2021 fiscal year.
