AMMAN — The Civil Service Consumer Corporation (CSCC) on Wednesday reduced the prices of more than 290 different commodities as part of a promotional campaign that begins on Thursday and will continue until the end of this month, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
CSCC’s Director General Salman Qudah said that the decision decreased prices between 7 and 35 per cent of the commodities’ original cost.
In a press statement, he added that the price reduction comes as a continuation to the corporation’s efforts to alleviate the financial burden on people, especially those with low and medium incomes, and protect them from rising prices.
He pointed out that all goods are available in large quantities in the institution's 67 markets throughout the Kingdom. The CSCC called on people to visit its official Facebook page to see the types of goods included in the discount and their prices.
Qudah said that all the discounted goods passed the necessary laboratory tests and health requirements before they were put on the market, stressing that the institution adopts the high-quality standards for the purchase and sale of goods.
He called on market-goers to adhere to public safety measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus, including wearing a mask and leaving a safe distance from others inside the market.
