AMMAN — The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission on Sunday directed mobile telecommunications companies to block all applications that would affect the flow of the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) exams, in order to achieve fairness and credibility of results, starting from June 24 and until July 15, in all schools across the Kingdom during the examination period, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The commission said it took this measure to maintain “the integrity of the Tawjihi exam, which is a supreme national interest and a basis for the educational and academic process”.
In its statement, the commission added that the blocking will take place a few minutes before the start of the exams and will end shortly after, indicating that due to the nature of the coverage of telecommunication networks, some areas of blocking may appear outside the school area, but will be temporary.
