AMMAN — The Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs on Monday commended His Majesty King Abdullah’s efforts in defending Palestine and Jerusalem and the unaltered Jordanian stance based on historical, religious and legitimate facts towards the Palestinian issue.
Secretary General of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs Abdullah Kanaan said that the committee supports King Abdullah, the custodian of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, stressing that true peace can only be achieved by compliance to international legitimacy resolutions.
Kanaan called for the immediate end of the occupation as it is an international moral issue.
Kanaan also demanded that Israel stop building settlements and commit to the two-state solution leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the pre-1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
